Trauma Wise Neuroscience for Moving Bodies
I have been a movement coach since 2008.
Starting with personal training and group fitness, my coaching evolved to specialize in aerial silks and rope technique.
In recent years, my personal movement practice and coaching has expanded beyond the skeleto-muscular and into the neuro-somatic. I now coach private mobility clients and aerial students seeking injury-rehabilitation and longevity of practice through my Movement Missing Links business, and I work with actors and performance artists as a movement director for theatre and film.
In my over 15-year career in the performing arts with scoliosis and other congenital physical limitations, I have acutely experienced the harm and imbalance that arises from pushing through pain and discomfort for the sake of performance needs more than the embodied experience of presence in physically challenging contexts.
Through connecting the holistic bodymind experience of ourselves in a practical attentional process, we can access both the poetic and the athletic with more integrity, joy, and capacity.
Movement Missing Links teaches skills of attending to our own experience in ways that empowers us to negotiate the performance goals of a coach, choreographer, or movement class with the preferences and needs of our unique nervous systems to reduce pain, build coordination, and reclaim joy in our physical health as movement artists of all levels.
is for folks who love to move, but who experience ongoing pain, injury history, hypermobility, and/or neurodivergence.
Combining the science of nervous system regulation, a mind/body approach to mobility training, and trauma-sensitive coaching and support, MML can help you learn how to both how to respond to the sensations that arise in your body and how to cooperate with them so that you find freedom and confidence in your physicality.
MML is a trauma-informed, gender, body, and neurodivergence affirming practice that deepens the bodymind connection for a more playful and confident experience of physicality.
MML expands physical capacities of embodied attention, joint stability, motor control, and integrated coordination that goes beyond training and into everyday life as well!
